From Java through Bali to Lombok: a personal travel film that began with an invitation I could hardly believe at first.

Together with other creators, I explored Java, including Jakarta and Surabaya, before we spent six days on Bali. I then continued privately to Lombok and filmed additional material there. These stages became ‘Wonderful Indonesia’: a personal travel film about impressive landscapes and the warmth of the people I met along the way.
When the invitation from the Indonesian tourism board arrived in my inbox, I was initially unsure whether the enquiry was real. I was still starting out as a filmmaker on Instagram — only when I had the flight tickets in front of me could I really believe the upcoming trip. For me, it was one of the most formative projects of my work so far — not only because of the footage, but also because of the encounters and exchanges with the other creators.
